RATIONALE FOR CHANGE

Time and effort reports will be reduced to being required only on federal awards. Faculty must be in compliance with effort reports on federal programs prior to submitting another federal grant.

Faculty research grants will now be managed within the college where they are awarded for increased oversight of award by chair/dean.

Intellectual property section states RASP will not share any funded proposals. This needs changed in cases where faculty leave and the grant is still NSU property and can be used for other funding opportunities.

Fixed broken links in policy caused with website changes and other formatting for easier readability.

Fringe rates will be changed to the actual fringe given by HR plus 3%. Although the calculation is not in policy, it was added that if for any reason fringe is under-allocated and line items cannot be moved within the grant budget to cover the fringe, the college must cover the remaining fringe amount.

Change on page 9 to clarify wording in IDC breakdown and include 5% to RASP per MEMO from President Turner. REMINDER TO SEE IF I NEED TO DELETE THIS.
